Season
The sun is shining and in New York city the dogs like with ease. With spring comes rain though and they are getting their pelts wet occasionally. The city is swelling with prey though and the dogs have full stomachs. Life here is getting easier but after the rein of spring comes the domination of summer with all new challenges.

ooc: I'm not sure but I thought in the rules it said your character could be in three places at once. If not just say and I'll delete this thread

The great square was deathly silent and still. Nothing stirred except debris that was scattered by the wind. The sun was just starting to set, casting its final rays of warmth and light over the land. The sky faded from bright blue to navy as the first stars began to twinkle in the sky, helping the small crescent moon to illuminate the area. Finally, the sun vanished, enveloping the great square in utter darkness.
Out of the shadows stepped a young femme. Her pelt was the color of the disappeared sun's rays, shining like embers over coal. Her eyes were two brown/amber stars, twinkling just as brightly. Though they were narrowed in thought and worry, they lit up the night. The femme's paws shuffled across the ground with each step, creating a scuffling sound. The sound made her feel good. It made her feel like she wasn't alone. Like she wasn't alone, and still had someone walking beside her. Like the large black lab was still walking a few paces in front of her, grinning goofilly back at her.
Fire.
The Shiba Inu let out a soft, tired sigh. She laid down on the outskirts of the great square. Her head rested on her paws, her eyes closing peacefully. Fire was exhausted, but her racing thoughts kept her awake. The only thing on her mind was Smokey, yet that one thought made her restless with worry. He had been like family to her, and like the rest of her family was ripped mercilessly away from her by the cruel jaws of a tainted. First her father, then her mother going into a depression from losing him, then her poor baby brother, Liam, because she couldn't save him. She couldn't save any of them. No matter what happened, Fire would not make that mistake again. She'd fight to save the ones she loved, even if it killed her in the process.
The stillness of the night slightly unnerved Fire, causing her to shift uncomfortably. The night was the time of the tainted, and although she was supposed to be safe on her territory, the pure territory, the tainteds had been pushing their boundaries without a care in the world. It made her uneasy. Never had Fire feared the tainteds, in fact she'd originally gone looking for them before to find someone. But now, they were becoming even more aggressive. They were, again, a threat to her. The wind blew by again, causing her to ruffle her red/ginger fur. It seemed like she'd get no rest that night. Letting out a deep sigh, Fire stared blankly ahead at the entrance of the great square.

Shooting stars fall.. From the vast open night sky.. If you know me well.. Then follow my trail down the sky..
A rather large figure stepped out of the shadows. The black of his pelt invisible in the night, the white a dark silver and the gray almost invisible in the darkness of the great square. His pawstpes were silent, trotting to a familiar scent. As he neared he slowed. He let out a tiny bark that got a little louder as he neared the femme, it was gentle and smooth, the smoothness told her that he was pure. A tainted dog always slurred his tone, making it rough and bumpy. But Star's was smooth, as smooth as his stride. He came up beside the dog and touched his tail to her flank, so as to tell her not to lift her head. He liked her better in that way, and besides he lay down next to her soon after, so she could see at his level and he could see her at hers. He pressed his body next to hers only for warmth. Hello, Fire. Do you remember the Shooting Star of the past day or so? he barked friendly, with a bit of amusement which filled his tone with warmth.
He smiled at her, 'Why is my sweet side so attracte to her? I've always been aggressive with strangers, even before I was born, when I was still in my ma's womb.... Why am I not that way to Fire?' his thoughts trailed with that. He was confused, eh really had been aggressive to all unknown to him since before birth. If a stranger to him came around his mother he would kick so hard that she would have to walk away to ease him. He had hated his father before birth the most, in the womb, he knew only his siblings and his mother, but his father had a larger irritation, and after birth he had learned why. He was so disgusted at his father and his tricks. His father had tricked his mother, when she fell in love with him, he had been her mate only so that she would produce young. But even Besmere', his mother, was too stupid to see it with the thickness of her love. Star shook the thoughts away and focussed on the femme before him.
I watch the [SHOOTING STAR]s fly by..
Star smiled at her warmly once more. So far, he hadn't seen anything ugly in her and he hoped never to. He also felt awkward as she had seen his aggressive side.. What would she think of him now? He shook his head violently, if he would've been able to he would have bit his face. 'Why am I thinking like this? It's ridiculous!!!' he battled his thoughts furiously. He never before cared about what others saw him as or thought about him. His mind was chaos. More things built up over and over again. He tried to focus on Fire and shove the matters aside but it wouldn't work, they just kept building up. The moment he pushed one aside another came. After a while he was so frustrated with the matters he got up for a moment and dipped his head to Fire. Excuse me a moment. he barked kindly before padding off into the shadows.
Star reached around and grabbed his fur, pulling and tugging at it until he was half-settled. Then he took a brick that was laying on the ground and through it. After a loud noise sounded he smirked, hidden by the shadows, then he shoved the matters to the back of his head and sighed with relief. He trotted back and lay down, once more pressing against Fire for warmth matters only. Sorry, my head was clogged with things that I had to shove away.. he trailed his voice and didn't continue, he didn't want to tell her what was clogging his head because then he'd have to admit something that even he didn't know.. And then it would lead to something he never shared with anybody, something in his past that he refused to tell to anybody. It was horrible, yes.. He figured that he could just start fresh with these new pures, but the haunting thoughts and memories wouldn't free his mind. He smiled and shoved the emotions away from himself. His sweet side once again slipped out without his knowing.

oocYay! =]
Pawsteps near her caused Fire to prick her ears. Just as her neck fur began to rise, a soft, smooth bark sounded in her ears. Her neck fur flattened. The dog was pure, much to her utmost relief. She wasn't sure if she would've had the strength to fight off a tainted. Fire let out a soft gasp when she felt a tail land on her flank, but did not move due to her catching the signal to stay still. Soon she felt the warmth of another pelt pressed against her, and her eyes closed for a moment in peace. At the sound of the dog's words, Fire's brown/amber eyes opened again and she turned her head only slightly so she could face the dog. Shooting Star, or Star as Fire preferred to call him. She returned the warm smile he gave her, enjoying the company on this dark night.
"Well of course," Fire barked in response to Star's bark. Anyone could tell by her voice that she was glad to see the male before her. Fire felt extremely comfortable whenever she was near Star, and could feel herself coming out of her shy shell whenever Star was near. She had only felt this way once, which is why confusion clouded her mind at the thought. She pushed the thought away for now, too tired to put much thought into anything. Comfort was something she found around everyone- it wasn't just Star. It took a lot to get Fire to not trust you or feel comfortable around you. What made Star so different?
"Excuse me a moment"
Her head shot up, for she hadn't realized that she'd zoned out. Fire nodded her head, watching as Shooting Star returned to the shadows. After a moment she lay her head back on her paws, enjoying looking at the bright stars overhead. She sighed peacefully. A loud 'clank!' sounded back in the shadows were Star was. Again her head shot up, her ears pricked forward. In her eyes was a small amount of fear. What had happened? Was Star alright? Just as she was about to sit up and figure out what happened, Star again walked out of the shadows. She smiled as he pressed against her, for it was a cold night and it felt good to be around someone.
At Star's words, Fire nodded her head, just barely noticing the way he trailed off. Though curious, Fire wasn't the type of dog that pressured others into telling her things. Most told her when they were ready, and she was always ready to listen and patient. She was like a therapist dog, always listening to other's problems but never speaking of her own. No one had the time to listen to hers and, though she hated to admit it, many were too selfish to even care. It was hard to keep her feelings bottled up inside, but she dealt with it. Why burden others with her own, silly troubles anyways?
"It's ok," Fire barked, her voice friendly. "If you don't mind my asking, what was that loud noise back there?" Her voice now held a small bit of humor, her eyes glittering like the midnight stars above.
